Libbyfish is in another mood and I have to stop giving everyone the stinkeye. I know it seems like I have been in a very bad mood now for ages, but it just isn’t so gentle readers. I have merely been pushed over the edge today with ANOTHER MEETING. The kind of meeting that you want to just scream a stream of obscenities to make them stop talking. The kind of meeting you want to shove sharpened pencils into your ears so you no longer have to listen to them drone on about the same stuff. Two and a half hours on a conference call (yep, I wasn’t even in the room) listening to my colleagues in London put the world to rights. I think I had the floor for about 3 minutes so I made my own agenda for the remainder of the meeting. It is as follows: Several games of Solitaire, Free Cell and Bejeweled File nails Surf web Catch up on email correspondence Jam pencils into ears Tomorrow is moving day and I am still not completely packed. My head hurts with the thought of unpacking. Between the two of us there is way too much furniture. The decision was made to sell his stuff because mine is, well, nicer. It was either that or apply for that crap show Merge, but who has that kind of time? We put up a bunch of stuff on craigslist and the freaks that have been inquiring about it are really picky. A cocktail table priced at $20 is hardly going to be a museum piece. While this is a lofty ambition, I would really like to have the bulk of it unpacked by 5 PM tomorrow. E has offered to come and help, but to be honest, by mid day I have been up to my armpits in cardboard and will most likely want a drink. Nay, several drinks and possibly a prescription of Xanax. So I may hold her to helping me forget that all my worldly belongings are still in boxes and that I have a surplus of beds. What do you say E… are you going to help me get my drink on?
THIS JUST IN… We put up a new listing for the furniture and now P has been inundated with offers for his stuff. The bed has already sold. It’s all very exciting. This must be what it’s like to work at Sotheby’s. Except not really as I doubt any serious collectors would want this stuff. See the above about $20 cocktail tables…
